Semrush Pricing 2026: Plans, Limits and Cheaper Ways to Get Access

October 20, 2026 · 6 min read

Short answer: Semrush now sells two families of plans. The classic SEO plans cost $139.95 (Pro), $249.95 (Guru) and $499.95 (Business) a month. The newer Semrush One bundles, which add AI search visibility tracking, cost $199 (Starter), $299 (Pro+) and $549 (Advanced) a month. Paying yearly saves about 17%. If those prices are too high, a free account, a 7-day trial, a cheaper tool or shared access can cut the cost.

What each plan actually gives you

Pro and Starter: enough for most solo users

Both include keyword research, domain and competitor analysis, backlink data, site audits and rank tracking for up to 5 projects and 500 keywords. Starter adds AI visibility tracking, which shows how often your brand appears in AI answers such as ChatGPT and Google’s AI results, with 50 tracked prompts a day. If you only need classic SEO, Pro is about $60 a month cheaper.

Guru and Pro+: history and content tools

The middle tier triples the limits and adds historical data back to 2012, content marketing tools, a keyword cannibalization report and a Looker Studio integration. It suits agencies that report to clients or teams that publish a lot of content.

Business and Advanced: API and scale

The top tier adds API access, the Share of Voice metric, Product Listing Ads research and much higher limits. Most freelancers and small businesses will never need it.

Hidden costs to budget for

  • Extra users: each plan includes one login. Extra seats start at about $45 a month on the entry tier and rise to around $80 and $100 on higher tiers.
  • Add-on toolkits: Traffic & Market (competitor traffic data) starts at $289 a month per user. Local, Social, Content and Advertising toolkits are sold separately.
  • Cancellation: there is no one-click cancel button. You contact support and confirm by email, so set a reminder before a trial or renewal date.

Is there a free version of Semrush?

Yes. A free account gives about 10 searches a day in tools such as Domain Overview and keyword research, one demo project, site audits of up to 100 pages a month and tracking for 10 keywords. It is fine for a quick check, but not for daily client work.

Five ways to pay less for Semrush

  1. Pay annually. Yearly billing saves about 17%, which brings Pro down to roughly $117 a month.
  2. Use the free trial for a project sprint. Pro and Guru come with a 7-day trial (a card is required). Plan your keyword research and audit before you start so you get the most out of it.
  3. Start on the free account. Ten daily searches are enough to check a few competitors each week.
  4. Use a cheaper tool for basic research. Ubersuggest starts at about $29 a month in the US and covers keyword ideas, audits and rank tracking. See our Semrush vs Ubersuggest comparison.
  5. Use shared access. Shared or “group buy” services let several members use one premium account for a small monthly fee. It is the cheapest option, but it comes with limits, explained below.

Shared Semrush access: what to know first

SEO BD Tools offers shared access to Semrush together with 100+ other premium SEO, AI and video tools from $5 a month, paid by crypto (Cryptomus) or bank transfer. Before choosing any shared service, understand the trade-offs:

  • Projects, saved lists and position tracking may be limited or visible to other members, so do not store private client data.
  • Daily report limits are shared, so heavy users may occasionally hit a cap.
  • You get access through a browser extension or dashboard rather than your own Semrush login.

If you need private projects, client reporting under your own brand or API access, a direct Semrush plan is the better choice. If you mainly need keyword, competitor and backlink research on a tight budget, shared access saves well over $100 a month. Compare the options on our SEO tools subscription page or see all plans.

Which Semrush plan should you choose?

  • Freelancer or blogger: Pro, or shared access if budget is the main concern.
  • Brand that wants to track AI search mentions: Semrush One Starter.
  • Agency with several clients: Guru or Pro+ for historical data and reporting.
  • Large agency or in-house team needing API data: Business or Advanced.

FAQ

How much is Semrush per month?

The classic SEO plans cost $139.95, $249.95 or $499.95 a month. Semrush One plans, which include AI visibility tracking, cost $199, $299 or $549 a month. Annual billing saves about 17%.

What is the difference between Semrush Pro and Semrush One Starter?

They have the same core SEO limits (5 projects, 500 tracked keywords). Starter adds AI search visibility tracking and costs about $60 more per month.

Does Semrush have a free trial?

Yes, usually 7 days on Pro and Guru, and on Semrush One plans. A payment card is required and the plan renews automatically if you do not cancel.

Is shared Semrush access legal and safe?

Shared access services operate outside Semrush’s own sales channels and Semrush’s terms generally restrict account sharing, so access can be interrupted. Use it for research, keep sensitive client data out, and choose a provider with clear refund terms.

Is Semrush worth it for a small business?

If SEO brings you customers, Pro usually pays for itself through better keyword and competitor decisions. If you only check rankings now and then, the free account or a cheaper tool is enough.
